As a student of Alabama Southern, you are invited to explore a new and exciting opportunity! Alabama Southern offers an honors option for most transfer classes. By selecting to participate in the Honors Program, you will be qualified to graduate with Honors Distinction, transfer your honors credits to participating universities and participate in a number of exciting learning experiences uniquely designed for you.

Goal and Mission
The Honors Program at Alabama Southern is designed to encourage motivated students to stretch academically. At Alabama Southern, students select which classes to take for Honors credit, and agree to fulfill an Honors Contract under the guidance of the instructor. The work done under the contract offers interested, capable students opportunities to enrich the regular curriculum. Students also participate in an Honors Seminar which connects them to a community of peers who strive for excellence. Nationwide, students enrolled in Honors classes make better grades than their peers, and usually make higher grades in honors courses than they do in their regular classes.

How can I participate in the Honors Program?

• Complete an application. Applications are available on each campus in the Student Development Office or you can download an application here.
• Register for and attend the Honors Forum, which will meet one Friday each month on the Monroeville Campus.
• Sign an Honors Contract with one or more of your instructors. Download an Honors Contract here.
